This calendar contains upcoming events for the telecom and internet infrastructure sectors. For more information, see this post.

If you have an event you would like to add to this calendar, you can simply create an event in your own calendar and invite telecomramblings@gmail.com to it. Your event will be added automatically but your email address may be shown in the event details. (I’m using Google’s calendar, over which I have limited control.)
Eligible events should be related to the telecom and internet infrastructure sectors, but beyond that can be social or professional. Trade shows, investor conferences, earnings calls, webinars, get-togethers, happy hours, etc. If possible, they should contain a link to the associated website. I reserve the right to consolidate duplicates, to correct broken links, and of course to delete spam or abusive postings, but I think that largely goes without saying on the internet these days.

Exploring Next-Generation Scale-out Server Architectures by Manuel Martull,
Senior Director Server Marketing for Fujitsu
Today’s datacenter IT staffs are under immense pressures, not only from pricing perspectives, but also power, cooling, and the cost of server administration in an increasingly complex virtualized environment. Server architecture choices however, have never been better with varying designs including traditional 1U and 2U rack servers, but also dense-blades, and new scale-out computing nodes.
Although rack servers have been shown to scale up to 80 cores/2TB memory on a single machine, are they a better choice than a densely-packed Blade chassis with consolidated networking on the back-end? And what about Private cloud implementations or the new ‘scale-out’ cloud computing servers where new designs are eliminating traditional hot & cold aisle to reclaim and increase datacenter space utilization?
