Global Roundup: Tata, Hibernia, Global Crossing, Orange

April 12th, 2010 by · Leave a Comment

Several news items recently on the multinational front:

Hibernia Media and Tata Communications (news, filings) have teamed up for media services, pooling their respective network assets for greater coverage.  Hibernia Media is the new name for MediaXstream, the video networking provider led by industry veteran Del Bothof that Hibernia Atlantic purchased over the winter.  The combination of Hibernia’s US and European footprint with Tata’s deep presence in Asia and the Middle East enables both companies to more easily address the wider marketplace.

glbc won a substantial DIA and VoIP contract with Continental Automotive in Guadalajara.  The new services will apparently save the company some 40% over its existing TDM infrastructure.  Continental Automotive isn’t a household name, but as a manufacturer of a variety of auto parts, it has over 80K employees in 130 countries worldwide and is precisely the kind of multinational enterprise that Global Crossing targets.

And finally, Diasorin has migrated its network to the MPLS IP-VPN solutions of Orange Business Services, the international arm of France Telecom (NYSE:FTE, news, filings).  Diasorin is an international maker of medical diagnostic systems and materials and is based in Italy, and will use the services to hook up 12 locations worldwide.
