Four items to catch up with before the whole US election thing comes to a head over the next few days:
Zayo picked up some business in the financial vertical this week. They will be delivering ultra-low-latency connections to MIAX Sapphire, the new options exchange opening in Miami in 2025. Zayo will provide diverse connectivity from the trading floor to other financial markets, with options for scaling in the future.
Wyyerd Fiber is expanding its territory again out in Arizona. They will now be building into the city of Glendale, which covers a wide swath of the northwestern quadrant of the Phoenix metro area in what is called the West Valley. Wyyerd has been steadily adding new coverage areas both around Phoenix and around San Diego.
altafiber is upgrading its infrastructure with some help from Calix. They are deploying Calix’s technology and solutions as they transition from 10Gbps XGS-PON toward 50G-PON. The arrangement also enables the company to cut power consumption in half in support of the company’s climate change goals. altafiber operates last mile networks in Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, and Hawaii.
And Equinix has officially opened a new IBX data center in Turkey. IL4 is located on the Equinix Istanbul campus and will support 1,125 cabinets and 3,044 square meters of space, with energy covered by renewable sources. Istanbul has long been a crossroads between east and west, and that position has been growing in importance in the digital world as well.
