Metro Bytes: Infinera, Poka Lambro, 123NET, Beanfield, DZS, Evocative, Duos, Accu-Tech

Some items of regional interest worth keeping up with:

Infinera has picked up a regional customer out in west Texas. Poka Lambro will be expanding its middle mile network by deploying Infinera’s XTM Series optical technology, enabling 400G services. Poka Lambro’s footprint covers some 4,200 square miles south of Lubbock and north of Midland. t3 Broadband is helping with the implementation.

Up in eastern Canada, Beanfield has tapped technology from DZS. They’ll be using both DZS Velocity fiber access platforms and Helix ONTs to bring subscribers up to 8Gbps within multiple dwelling units. The deal expands upon an existing relationship. Beanfield operates extensive last mile networks in both Toronto and Montreal.

123NET has announced changes to its leadership team by promoting three from within. Chuck Irvin has become CRO, James Kandler has become CIO, and Justin Lampman is now COO. The expanded team will look to drive growth, backed by recent new funding from Grain Management. 123NET’s footprint now stretches 3,100 route miles, covering much of Michigan.

Evocative has brought in a new interconnectivity option to its ecosystem. Megaport’s platform is now available to customers within Evocative’s Boston and Seattle data centers. The two companies announced a recent partnership agreement, and no doubt will be rolling out the same thing at Evocative’s other 7 facilities around the country.

And Duos Edge AI has a new partner lined up to help with the rollout of its edge infrastructure. Accu-Tech will be supporting Duos Edge AI’s deployment of edge data center pods. Last month Duos revealed that the first would be in Amarillo TX in support of the state’s Region 16 Education Service Center.
