Int’l Bytes: EXA, Hayo, iBasis, Google

A few items from around the world:

EXA Infrastructure has added a new network partner. Macarne LLC will be leveraging EXA’s reach in Europe and under the Atlantic to expand its IP transit reach. The deal will give Macarne greater transatlantic route diversity. Macarne is building out a global Tier 2 network with AI-optimized routing.

Hayo is expanding its reach in both Africa and Asia. The digital solutions provider has opened offices in Yaoundé (Cameroon), Niamey (Niger) and Dehiwala-Mount Lavinia (Sri Lanka), where they will target local businesses and also government opportunities. The company also recently launched a global IoT platform.

iBasis has lined up some more international voice business in the Caribbean. TelEm Group has signed on for a 5 year exclusive partnership in support of the company’s voice business on the islands of Sint Maarten, Saba, and Sint Eustatius in the Lesser Antilles. iBasis is part of Tofane Global.

And Google’s AI-related infrastructure investments have reached Thailand. The tech giant has revealed plans to drop $1B into cloud and data center infrastructure in the country. The first Google data center in Thailand will be in Chonburi, which is across the bay from Bangkok. Google forged a deal with the Royal Thai Government last November to promote digital skills and infrastructure in the country.
