Thursday Roundup: RadiusDC, South Reach Networks, Comcast Business, Element Critical

August 15th, 2024 by · Leave a Comment

A data center business, some FTTH interconnection, and some datacenter/fiber collaboration:

RadiusDC has made a significant data center acquisition. They have purchased Miami I, a 170,000 square foot facility about 1 miles west of downtown in Sweetwater. They plan to boost the site’s capacity from 3.2MW to 9.2MW with the potential to go up to 15MW. RadiusDC is backed by IPI Partners and also operates 1500 Champa in Denver.

South Reach Networks is taking aim at the FTTH ecosystem. They are expanding their product suite to specifically target FTTH providers within Florida. SRN operates a dark fiber network along Florida’s east coast that was built for interconnection, making it ideal for middle mile and backhaul for the access networks in the heavily populated cities it passes through.

And Element Critical and Comcast Business are teaming up across multiple markets. They hope to pair the former’s data center services with the latter’s fiber connectivity in their common markets, which include Austin, Houston, Chicago, and Silicon Valley. Comcast will be able to offer 100G connectivity and various data and managed services to tenants in and around those facilities.
