I have been creating and maintaining various lists of network map resources for a while now, but only of the geographical regions where I am most familiar. Today I’m working on a new region: the Asia/Pacific/Australia theatre. Well, ok it’s not really a region, it’s more of a hemisphere. But in terms of internet geography, it’s still a bit more limited in scope and I’ll lump it together for the sake of temporary convenience – we can always divide it up later if it makes sense. But I very much need the help of readers to complete this list. Why? Because even though I’m frequently in the region physically, my interest in telecom is mostly stateside with a dash of Europe and I don’t have most of these maps at my fingertips.
Often I run into a foreign company which maintains a bare bones English website that doesn’t include a map – I feel sure there’s one out there but it is probably only in the more extensive site in the dominant language. In other cases, I just haven’t found it yet. Hence, you will see lots of incomplete data in my table currently. Can you fill a slot? Can you add a new one? Any intercity network map focusing on somewhere in the right hemisphere probably qualifies. Just leave a comment or drop me an email at info@telecomramblings.com.
Future projects include adding Canadian and Mexican network maps to the USA page, making it North American, and then a Central and South American Page. Also possible is an extension of the European page to include those covering fewer countries.
