Three items from midweek:
Comcast Business won a bit of bandwidth business on the animal side of the healthcare vertical. Cara Veterinary, which serves the Seattle WA metro area, will be using their Ethernet Dedicated Internet services to keep its 10 (soon to be 11) clinics from Bellingham down to Tacoma. As with the rest of the healthcare world, the data needs of veterinary clinics have bben rising steadily.
Alianza has announced a strategic collaboration agreement with AWS. They are using AWS infrastructure to power their growing cloud communications platform, and the new multi-year agreement gives them the infrastructure resources to continue that growth. Meanwhile, They will be able to collaborate with AWS to improve the cloud infrastructure available to them itself, as telco applications have needs that off the shelf public cloud infrastructure doesn’t necessarily satisfy.
And Nokia is helping Bouygues Telecom with an IP network upgrade. Bouygues is deploying Nokia’s 7750 Service Router to prepare for links up to 800GE, upgrading from FP4 silicon to FP5. The French service provider needs greater capacity on its core network as well as in its security gateways in response to customer demand.
