Some fiber, some data center, some wireless, and some voice:
Arcadian Infracom has expanded its relationship with the California Department of Technology. That will make the state an anchor customer on additional longhaul and middle-mile fiber routes in California, specifically between the Bay Area and Eureka, the Bay Area and Reno, and LA to Las Vegas. Arcadian is expected to break ground on the initial Phoenix-LA route later this year.
DataBank has some big plans down in Atlanta. They have acquired 95 acres of land near Lithia Springs, which is 20 minutes west of town and a half mile away from where they are building ATL4 already. The new site can accommodate two data centers totaling 1M square feet and 180MW of power. Those plans are still on the drawing board, but probably not for very long.
Alianza has raised $61M in financing to expand the reach of its cloud communications platform. The funds will go toward expanding its sales team by 400%, expand R&D efforts, and possibly to harness the potential generative AI. The financing was provided by Texas Capital Bank.
Verizon has won a renewed deal with the NFL’s Baltimore Ravens. They have boosted 5G Ultra Wideband coverage in and around M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, and have deployed a managed private wireless solution there and across the other 29 NFL stadiums around the country. Meanwhile the Ravens and Verizon will be doing some significant promotional events of course.
And Vantage Data Centers has completed its EMEA deal, creating an investment partnership covering six stabilized data centers. The new entity is valued at about $2.78B with 1.8M square feet and 177MW of IT capacity. The consortium of investors is led by MEAG and Infranity. Vantage hopes to leverage support from its new partners to bettter expand in EMEA.
