Zayo Details A Few Upgrades and Expansions

December 16th, 2022 by · Leave a Comment

As 2022 comes to a close, Zayo released some details on where it has been investing in its network. The list gives us a sense of not just 2022, but where the company is headed as we move into 2023.

Zayo has either completed or soon will complete a few new longhaul dark fiber routes, specifically an alternate Cleveland-Columbus route and a new low latency St. Louis-Indianapolis route. Meanwhile they overbuilt an existing route between Las Vegas and Phoenix. Each complements the company’s existing national footprint and fill in a few blanks.

Meanwhile the company continues to roll out 400G, and in the second half of 2022 put the new tech to work on 18 longhaul routes. That additional lit capacity will go toward meeting the bandwidth demands of the market, as always.

And finally, Zayo has added a third transpacific cable connection, taking up space on TGN-P. They were already leveraging PC-1 and Unity, and this third route gives their network a diverse option leveraging a different landing station in Tokyo.
