Thursday Roundup: GTT, Logix, Hurricane Electric

Several significant expansion projects, three in the southern central US region and one over in Scandinavia:

GTT is teaming up with Caliber Financial Services to bring better connectivity to the Otoe-Missouria Tribe. Caliber is owned by the Otoe-Missouria Tribe of Indians, whose land lies in rural northern Oklahoma. The bandwidth will help serve the homes and businesses on the reservation, and will include a 10G dedicated internet cirsuit, 10G Ethernet point-to-point circuit between Caliber’s data centers in Red Rock, Oklahoma and Kansas City, Missouri, and a 10G circuit in Red Rock to connect a newly installed tower serving the area with Wi-Fi.

Logix Fiber Networks is extending its fiber network into a new facility down in Texas. They are building out a connection to Sabey Data Centers’ new facility in Round Rock, near the capital of Austin. Sabey recently broke ground on the new facility, and expects it to be ready by the end of next year. The buildout is part of Logix’s recently announced $100M in capital commitments.

Bulk Data Centers is further expanding its data center footprint in Norway. They have a new 10MW facility planned for their NO1 campus in Kristiansand, and will level another 160,000 square meters of land in preparation for a 40MW facility to be started sometime next year. Both will be powered by a newly completed onsite substation delivering 125MVA dual connections and access to 100MW of nearby hydroelectric power. They have also added 1.5MW of white space capacity at OS-IX in Oslo.

And Hurricane Electric has expanded into Arkansas for the first time. The global IPv6-native backbone has deployed a PoP at TierPoint’s facility in the state capital of Little Rock at 15707 Chenal Parkway. Hurricane Electric will leverage the new location to offer IP transit and access to the 10K or so networks its infrastructure connects to worldwide.
