The Irish wholesale provider Enet says it will be investing more than €50m in its fiber reach. That’s in addition to the investments they’ve already completed within their Dublin metro network. The buildouts are planned to take place over the next 5 years.
The expansion plans call for 45km of new metro fiber to the north and west of Dublin. That fiber will be focused on the major business parks of the region, increasing fiber availability along the T50 route by 900% with some 700Tbps of capacity. Another 10km of metro fiber targets North Dublin and 4km of backhaul in West Dublin will target the business community, while a number of towers will also be brought on-net.
Enet is part of the Speed Fibre Group, and operates some 5,600 route kilometers of fiber, which includes but is not limited to the metro footprint of the Irish State itself. It also includes a national backhaul footprint that supports a significant licensed network footprint.
