EdgeConneX’s international expansion continues as the company made a move yesterday into Indonesia. The edge data center specialist has announced the acquisition of Jakarta-based GTN, which is a JV between Mitsui and Lippo Group’s PT Multipolar Technology.
GTN operates a 7MW, tier-3 data center in Bekasi Cikarang in greater Jakarta that serves 50+ customers. EdgeConneX plans to combine that facility with an adjacent plot of land to form a data center campus with expansion room up to 90MW of capacity.
EdgeConneX has been busy in Asia, entering India via its JV AdaniConneX as well as mainland China via a strategic investment in Chayora. Somehow they’ve managed to enter APAC in force without actually landing in any of Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, or Australia — yet at least.
