Zayo Unveils Shielded Internet Access, Plans Metro Expansions

Zayo has introduced a new product in North America, and plans to expand its infrastructure in parallel to boost growth. The new offering is called Shielded Internet Access and will be targeted toward the enterprise marketplace, bundling common services into a unified offering.

Zayo’s Shielded Internet Access puts together dedicated internet access, DDoS, and private cloud connectivity, which in today’s marketplace are often purchased in parallel already. The initial rollout is in the markets of Phoenix, Dallas/Fort Worth, Indianapolis, Denver, Seattle, and Toronto, with additional markets planned for 2022.

However, it’s not just a new product in the portfolio, as Zayo is also announcement metro fiber investments in those markets to help spur growth. In Arizona they will be adding 100 route miles in the West Valley and have another 200 route miles ready to roll in Pinal County powered by the E-rate program. In Dallas/Fort Worth they will build another 60 route miles in 2022 in addition to the 105 they have added this year. Zayo also has a bunch of longhaul buildouts touching Dallas, Phoenix and Denver that will be ready next year.
