A few partnerships, expansions, and contracts to keep up with:

Akamai and AT&T have renewed their business relationship again. The two have been working together since 2012, bringing Akamai’s CDN and security technology to AT&T’s customers. The combination enables both companies to focus on their own strengths while meeting the network and cloud needs of enterprise customers.

RingCentral has officially opened for business in Germany. The cloud communications provider has launched its services with a new office in Hamburg and a data center in Frankfurt. The new locations will enable RingCentral to store communications data locally, thus making both European and German regulators happy. The company will now target enterprises with UC, collaboration, and contact center offerings.

Nokia and Optus are teaming up for IoT software down under. Optus has selected Nokia’s IoT platform for device management and data collection, and the two are taking the solution to market together. The target will be Australian mining, utility, and transportation entities. It’s an expansion of an existing relationship under which they have been working on 5G as well.

Ethernity Networks says it has picked up a breakthrough contract in southern Asia. An Indian telecom OEM has signed on to use the company’s vRouter software stack running on its FPGA hardware and firmware to offer a programmable router and security platform. The project will enable cell site router appliances of up to 360Gbps and respond to demand for hardware disaggregation in the Indian telecommunications market.

And Consolidated Communications has tapped Pax8 to enhance its cloud offerings. Pax8 specializes in cloud distribution, and will enable Consolidated to streamline its processes in serving cloud services to the business and enterprise market. Consolidated’s cloud services portfolio includes next generation productivity, backup, security, data management and disaster recovery solutions.
