There was a bit of consolidation in the Latin American network business late last week. The upstart provider EdgeUno and the Brazilian firm Sunnyvale Networks are joining forces.
Led by industry veteran Mehmet Akcin, EdgeUno kicked off last year focusing on making it easier for US and European companies to access infrastructure in the region. One of their bigger projects has been teaming up with Seaborn Networks for IP networking and cloud on-rams across South America. The deal is similar to EdgeUno’s acquisition of RedUno last fall in that it brings local market expertise into the fold, further enabling services across Latin America.
Sunnyvale Networks serves Brazil’s ISP space with network engineering, operations, and architecture. They’ll be bringing that expertise to a wider audience under EdgeUno’s umbrella. Sunnyvale’s Epafras Schaden will be joining EdgeUno’s leadership team as Chief Technology Officer.
