H5 Moves Into San Antonio

November 28th, 2018 by · 1 Comment

A key piece of colo real estate has changed hands down in Texas. H5 Data Centers has acquired a carrier hotel in San Antonio, its first investment in the Lone Star State.

The 100 Taylor Street facility spans some 85,000 square feet of space. Its position in San Antonio puts it at one of the key crossroads of the southwest, centrally located relative to Dallas, Houston, and the Rio Grande while sitting at the eastern end of the longhaul route to southern California.

According to Datacenter Dynamics, the facility was previously operated by the regional ISP Taylor Telecom.  H5 plans to build upon the existing interconnection business in the facility. In addition, they plan to build out more than 100 cabinets.

H5’s footprint now spans 13 markets, inclusing a few on those longhaul routes to the west: Phonex and Albuquerque. It’s most recent acquisition before this one was the Intuit facility in Quincy, Washiongton over the summer.
