Two real estate vertical deals, an RLEC rollout, and a new data center for Texas:
FirstLight Fiber has picked up an interesting customer in the real estate vertical. Vacation Innovations will be using their internet and voice solutions for the company’s locations. FirstLight has built out dark fiber hooking up the company’s offices in Portsmouth, NH, is supplying voice services to three others, and may also be on tap to supply cloud services. Vacation Innovations’ SellMyTimeshareNow.com brand had already been a FirstLight customer since 2005.
West River Telecom is upgrading its network with premium home WiFi services with some help from Calix. WRT is the RLEC for some 25 exchanges across 17 counties in North and South Dakota along the Missouri River. They are busy deploying FTTH across their network, with Calix’s WiFi and Cloud capabilities helping to round out the offering.
DataBank has officially opened its third data center in the Dallas metro area. DFW3 is located in Plano and offers 145,000 square feet of space across six separate data halls, with room for expansion to 265,000 square feet should the opportunity arise. The facility has dual 20MW utility feeds and 9MW of usuable UPS power.
And last week Hudson Fiber Network won a key REIT customer over to its fiber network in northern New Jersey, bringing onto its Smart Grid platform eight high profile buildings in Jersey City, Paramus, and Hoboken. HFN didn’t give the name of the REIT in the PR, but from the properties listed it appears to be Jersey-City-based Mack-Cali, which operates some 17.1 million square feet of office space across the region. Tenants in those eight buildings will have low latency access to key financial hubs, dark fiber across the Hudson to NYC, full redundancy, and mileage insensitive cross-connect pricing to other connected buildings.
