Some fiber, data center, vendor, network news to peruse on this Monday morning:

Another supplier has revealed a big contract with Verizon to support future 5G and PON needs. Prysmian Group has been awarded a $300M deal to supply more than 17 million fiber kilometers of ribbon and loose tube cables over the next three years. Prysmian will use the commitment to invest in its US optical cable organization.

CoreSite has a new IaaS provider as a tenant at two of its data center campuses. Voxility has deployed a presence in both Los Angeles and Northern Virginia and will be connecting to their Any2Exchange peering service to interconnect with other networks there. Voxility will be looking to reach customers in CoreSite’s ecosystem.

Cataleya has a new customer for its nextgen session border controller. London-based Docklands’ Data Centre Limited will be leveraging it enhance the company’s switching environment and turn it into a service enablement solution. Cataleya recently became an in dependent force when former CEO Andreas Hipp led a buyout of the division from its parent Epsilon in February.

And Fatbeam has won a dark fiber deal for some wireless backhaul. Two national cellular operators are tapping the fiber builder and operator as part of their 5G infrastructure buildout in the states of Washington and Idaho. Fatbeam has used E-Rate contracts as an entry to building out fiber in communities throughout the region, and it’s great to see them turning that infrastructure toward other pursuits as well.
