A few contract wins, partnerships, and product launches to note for this week:
Infinera has landed a new customer over in the UK. Gamma will be using their XTM Series gear as it builds out a dark fiber aggregation network starting in London. Gamma is using dark fiber from an unnamed third party to replace its leased network and boost its access locations by a factor of 10.
Netrality has some new cloud connectivity options out at its St. Louis data center at 210 N Tucker. Epsilon has executed an agreement to bring its CloudLX interconnection platform into the facility, expanding on an existing relationship between the two companies. Epsilon has been focusing its business on providing connectivity to leading public clouds and internet exchanges around the world.
Champion ONE has thrown its hat deeper into the SDN world this week. The vendor has launched a new line of open network Ethernet switches that boast SDN and NFV functionality. They are working with software vendors, such as IP Infusion, Pica8, and Cumulus Networks on the software side, from which the hardware is fully disaggregated.
And Telco Systems has teamed up with Silver Peak to dive into the SD-WAN world. The two have launched a new open vCPE solution for managed SD-WAN, combining Telco Systems’ Verge NFV platform with Silver Peak’s virtual SD-WAN solution. Additional VNFs can be layerd on at any time as well.
