Here’s a quick look at some news from around the world that’s worth a look today:
Windstream has entered the cloud connectivity game. Yesterday they unveiled a new Cloud Connect product aimed at connecting their enterprise customers directly to their cloud assets, bypassing the public internet but doing it inexpensively. Windstream has been steadily expanding its network reach and capabilities over the last year or two, especially since spinning off its fiber assets themselves to CS&L via a triple-net lease.
Telia Carrier has also been on the network expansion warpath over the last few years. Today they took the party to a new market in the upper Midwest, establishing a PoP at Cologix’s facility in downtown Minneapolis. The expansion brings their 100G IP and Ethernet backbone to its 63rd market in North America, although there are still plenty of Tier 2/3 targets left to visit.
BSO is expanding its portfolio in the financial vertical. They have revealed plans for a Financial Cloud service, integrating their low latency network and cloud infrastructure across Equinix facilities in three markets. The buildout will focus on LD4 in London initially, with a presence on the way in NY4 in New York and TY3 in Tokyo on the way. Those sites will join BSO’s presence in NY9, PA3, and PA4 to provide global cloud coverage.
And Ericsson has yet another partner in its efforts to shape the IoT market. They are teaming up with Japan’s KDDI to verify and further study low power wide area cellular technologies. After all, the IoT won’t go very far if every device is as power hungry as a smartphone. Top 10 girl in bikini view here Rating sexy girl in bikini.
