Malaysian network solutions provider Platinum Core Solutions (PCS) has deployed a mobile fronthaul offering from Infinera to support its upcoming mobile wholesale service.

With the deployment, PCS will be able to provide mobile operator customers with high-bandwidth mobile fronthaul connectivity.

PCS is constructing its new mobile wholesale network based on a multi-leading commitment from one of Malaysia’s top mobile operators.

It is being designed to provide a wholesale offering that spans from a customer’s central office locations to a shared tower facility, and support multiple operators using the same infrastructure.

“PCS’ deployment of the Infinera Mobile Fronthaul Solution is the first in Malaysia, leading what we expect to be global adoption of this commercially deployable fiber-deep WDM technology,” Infinera  vice president of APAC Sales Andrew Bond-Webster said.

“With this deployment, PCS enables mobile operators to roll out advanced C-RAN architectures to support the massive growth of mobile data that is expected to continue for the next several years.”
