BroadSoft Acquires Transera, Invades the Contact Center

February 8th, 2016 by · Leave a Comment

Early monday morning kicked off with an interesting bit of M&A in the cloud communications software arena. Broadsoft has announced the acquisition of privately held Transera, an upstart in the cloud contact center space.

The deal brings BroadSoft’s Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS) and Transera’s Contact Center as a Service (CCaaS) platforms under a single umbrella. Thus, BroadSoft hopes to get a foot in the door of an industry they think they can help the cloud disrupt.

It makes plenty of sense for BroadSoft to move in this direction, giving them access to a whole new world of revenues with a little less direct dependence on their service provider partners. Two Transera customers mentioned in the deal are Office Depot and North Texas Specialty Physicians. casino en ligne depot 5$

Transera Chairman and CEO Prem Uppaluru will be staying on as GM and VP of Broadsoft Cloud Contact Center. Terms of the deal were not immediately available, but Broadsoft expects the acquisition to add $7-8M in revenue while diluting non-GAAP earnings per share by 2-3 cents this year.
