Vendor Roundup: Accedian, Cyan, Ericsson, Cisco

A quick look at news from the vendors that is worth a look:

T-Mobile Poland has upgraded its national network with some help from Accedian and the integrator AM Technologies Poland. They’ve deployed Accedian’s V-NID platform to monitor performance across their national mobile network in real time. Accedian is poised for growth from its NFV solutions as well in the coming years.

Cyan has formally introduced a new transport solution aimed at the data center interconnect market. The N-Series Open Hyperscale Transport Platform and its first incarnation, the N11, combine a Linux-based operating system and off-the-shelf components to supply a specialized, highly modular, SDN-friendly, low cost-per-Gbps option for hooking up all those clouds out there.

Back in eastern Europe, Ericsson picked up a customer in the Balkans. Serbia’s Telekom Srbija has picked Ericsson’s billing solution for both fixed line and mobile residential and corporate customers. It’s the last step in a 4 year upgrade project, and it’s Ericsson’s first European customer for its Charging and Billing in One suite.

And Cisco reported another decent quarter, as revenues of $11.9B were up 7% over the same period last year. Service provider sales were down 1%, but that’s much better than it had been going for a while. They expect capex spending to drop this year, but are promising to make up some of the difference by taking marketshare. Oh, and those new competitive threats from the likes of Facebook and VMWare?  Inconceivable!
