Here’s a quick look at some news on the European front today:
TI Sparkle is expanding its depth in the heart of Europe with a new PoP in Amsterdam. The presence in Amsterdam Vancis will further their high speed access capabilities to the Seabone IP Transit network and to their Lan2Lan Ethernet-over-MPLS solution. TI Sparkle has been perhaps the least visible of the top IP backbones over the last few years, but its depth in Africa and Latin America is in the right spots to find growth opportunities.
The UK’s Aria Networks unveiled its new carrier-grade IP/MPLS solution today. The NOC software is aimed at complex, multi-vendor capacity management of the sort cloud computing and other modern bandwidth technologies are starting to demand. A European tier-1 service provider has apparently already signed on.
And PGi says it has formed a multi-year strategic alliance with TeliaSonera for business collaboration. The Scandinavian based telecommunications giant will offer PGi’s video, web, and audio collaboration solutions to its customers alongside the usual menu of voice and data services.
