Here’s a quick look at four contract wins and a modular expansion from the colo sector this week, on each for Telehouse, Verne Global, Telecity, Data Foundry, and Interxion:

The Icelandic data center market seems to be heating up as planned. Verne Global apparently needs more ftec modules from Colt beyond the 500 square meters they had started out with a year and a half ago. Colt builds them in northern England, and will ship the new modules in May. Verne Global is looking to use the abundant geothermal energy in Iceland to power a major cloud computing node.

In New York, Inerail has selected Telehouse America’s Chelsea data center. The Wilmington-based managed service provider is establishing a new core IP routing node there in order to give its customers the ability to connect directly to its global backbone.

The UK-based telecommunications provider Gamma launched its SIP trunking service, with the help of Telecity Group (LON:TCY, news, filings)‘s data centers. I haven’t run into Gamma much, but according to their website they switch moret than 800M minutes per month. Telecity has been paying a lot of attention to its overall ecosystem lately, promoting the services of its clients to its other clients like this.

In Texas, Data Foundry announced a contract with Binbit. Binbit is a Mexican entertainment services provider, and Data Foundry’s giant Texas 1 facility in Austin will be its primary data center. Binbit is also leveraging Data Foundry’s managed services to help manage their IT infrastructure and internet access.

And back in the UK, Xtraordinary Hosting is expanding intoInterXion (NYSE:INXN, news)‘s LON2 facility. The location in the center of London will give them greater internet access options both via direct connections and via the London Internet Exchange. Xtraordinary is already in Interxion’s LON1 facility.
