Hudson Fiber Teams with Cross River and KVH for Lower Latency

June 20th, 2012 by · Leave a Comment

Hudson Fiber Network tapped a partner each in Japan and New Jersey to help bring lower latency connectivity to their customers, especially of the financial variety.

In New Jersey they teamed up with boutique dark fiber upstart Cross River Fiber for two key projects. They’ve signed on to Cross River’s new buildouts to Mahwah from Secaucus, Newark, and Carteret. Mahwah is home to that major NYSE facility that is now open to outside carriers. And they’ve also teamed up for a new route between 755 Secaucus Road and 300 Boulevard East over in Weehawken that will cut 25% off the current latency numbers. The latter will be ready in Q4 of this year, and the former in Q1 of next year.

Meanwhile, HFN is working with KVH on the other side of the planet to expand their low latency offerings into east Asia. KVH’s solutions will let them serve customers in Tokyo, Singapore, Seoul, and Hong Kong. KVH specializes in serving the high frequency trading community in Japan, claiming the lowest latency network available there.
