Ramblings Jobs: UPN and CityFibre Holdings

Two new jobs were posted to the Ramblings Jobs Board this week from Unite Private Networks and from City Fibre Holdings.  Additionally, the jobs board itself finally got a long-needed overhaul. 

Unite Private Networks is looking for an SVP Sales – Chief Marketing Officer in Kansas City, Missouri. The Midwestern metro fiber builder and operator has been expanding rapidly since getting a cash infusion from Ridgement a year ago. The position will be responsible for all marketing, sales, and business development activities.

Meanwhile, we also got our first job posting from across the Atlantic. The UK’s CityFibre Holdings is looking for a Local access – Metro network architect or senior designer, hoping  to poach some US metro fiber talent. No really, that’s what they want to do according to the listing, although they didn’t use the word poach. The European metro fiber business is at an earlier stage of development overall than in the US, with opportunities just starting to blossom.

And we still have two job postings from Sidera Networks still on the books. Sidera is looking for a Senior Facilities Power Engineer and for Business Sales Account Managers, Enterprise.  Sidera has been one of our most active jobs posters.

The jobs board itself got a major facelift, as I brought most of the functionality in-house which let me add a few new features with more on the way.  Job posters now have their own login, can edit/correct existing job listings, include their company logo, and extend the run of listings beyond the initial 30 days without starting over.  Now that I have full control of the jobs board infrastructure, I’d be interested in any suggestions you might have as to how I can improve it.
