Two infrastructure expansion projects and two customer wins;

Colt Data Center Services will be putting €2B to work in Germany over the next few years. They plan to add four data centers in the country, two in Frankfurt and two in Berlin. Frankfurt 4 & 5 will be built on an 18-acre site and total 63MW, while Berlin 1 & 2 will add 54MW on 9.5 acres. The first in each market is expected to be ready for service by the end of 2028. Both expansions will support densities up to 130kW per rack and leverage a variety of green technologies to reduce environmental impact.

Sparkle has expanded its global backbone into Mexico for the first time. They have opened a PoP in the key hub of Querétaro to go with the new subsidiary they recently established there. Sparkle is also a consortium partner on the MANTA cable system, and they also have plans for a new PoP in San Diego.

Fibrus, a broadband provider in Northern Island and Cumbria, has tapped Nokia to help keep its network infrastructure secure and reliable. They will be using Nokia’s Deepfield technology for network analytics, enabling them to better control and manage their infrastructure. Fibrus currently touches 100K homes with connectivity to 400K.

And Comcast Business picked up a customer in the US food distribution sector late last week. Julius Silvert will be using their connectivity and cybersecurity to help update the company’s regional network infrastructure. Specifically, Comcast Business will be providing SD-WAN as well as a range of security technologies and professional services to hold it all together. Julius Silvert serves restaurants, grocery stores, and other institutions across the Northeast and MidAtlantic states.
