Four expansion projects in four markets, both organic and inorganic, to catch up with:

The data center operator 1547 and its financial partners at Harrison Street have announced a new bit of data center M&A. They have acquired DRFortress from GI Partners. DRFortress operates Hawaii’s largest carrier neutral data center, managing some 65,000 square feet of space and 800 racks in Honolulu. 1547 already owns AlohaNAP in Kapolei, a few miles to the west.

T5 Data Centers says it will be adding a fifth location in Chicagoland. They have acquired a site in Elk Grove Village and unveiled plans for a 220,000 square foot, 36MW facility. With utility power from ComEd already lined up, CHI V is expected to be ready in 2028. T5 is already working on a 1.2GW campus in Grayslake.

DataDog says it will be building out some new data center capacity in Australia. The cloud security and monitoring company will be building infrastructure based on Amazon’s AWS, enabling the company to store and process data locally to meet the needs of enterprise clients in the country. The expansion is expected to be ready in the middle of 2025.

And Phoenix continues to see lots of FTTH action. This week NOVOS FiBER, sister company to PRIME FiBER, says it will be investing as much as $130M in the Phoenix metro area over the next few years. Construction is already underway. Backed by InLight Capital, NOVOS is already building out in the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex, while PRIME is busy in Florida.
