A few items from around the world to keep up with:
DE-CIX has expanded its IX footprint into Brazil for the first time. They have launched DE-CIX Sao Paulo, which touches Elea Data Centers SPO1, Ascenty SP4, and Equinix SP4. And they have launched DE-CIX Rio de Janeiro, which touches Elea Data Centers RJO1 and Equinix RJ2. The two will be interconnected from the start, enabling both local and domestic peering.
GTT picked up a managed services deal in the hospitality sector. Radisson Hotel Group will be using GTT Secure Connect to improve its network, which touches some 800 hotels and offices around the world. The SASE offering integrates a wide range of security services built on a global managed SD-WAN. Radisson has some 10 brands in more than 100 countries worldwide.
Wingu Group is expanding its data center footprint in the East African nation of Tanzania. They are moving onto phase 2 of their buildout of carrier neutral space and power in Dar es Salaam. The upgrade adds more white space, two meet-me rooms, and upgraded security systems. Wingu also operates several facilities in Djibouti as well as locations in Somaliland and Ethiopia.
STACK Infrastructure has tapped the credit markets for another $4B. The new green financing will go toward its giant new campus in Stafford VA as well as its buildouts in Portland OR and Toronto, Canada. STACK says that to date it has raised some $9B in debt capital for its Virginia expansion over the past 5-6 years as it continues to ramp up to meet hyperscale demand.
