An AI data center expansion, a technology trial, and two interconnection partnerships:
InfraPartners and Nscale are partnering up to expand their data center footprint in Glomfjord, Norway. The buildout will boost capacity to 60MW in support of AI workloads, all of which is powered by local hydroelectric energy. Glomfjord is located along the northwestern Norwegian coast.
Lumen and Ciena have teamed up for a significant new network trial. They have successfully demonstrated a 1.2Tbps wavelength spanning 3,050km. The trial leveraged Ciena’s WL6e technology over a 6500 photonic line system and Lumen’s fiber network between Denver and Dallas. They also used 800Gbps routing technology from Juniper’s PTX Series to establish Ethernet and IP services.
Meanwhile, Lumen also partnered up with Flexential. Lumen’s NaaS platform has been integrated with Flexential’s FlexAnywhere platform, enabling scalable on-demand network services across 42 Flexential locations. Lumen’s NaaS nodes themselves are in Hillsboro OR, Aurora CO, and Plany TX.
And Megaport has a new interconnection partner over in Africa. TelCables West Africa has partnered with them to enable connectivity for its West African customers to Megaport’s extensive ecosystem of 930 data centers and 300 cloud nodes. TelCables West Africa is a subsidiary of Angola Cables, which will also gain interconnection of its global footprint.
