Wednesday Roundup: AVAIO, Spirent, AMS-IX

A new data center campus, some hyperscale testing, and some interconnection:

AVAIO Digital has some big plans for a part of Virginia we don’t talk about much. They have acquired a 452-acre business and industrial site in Appomattox County. The company plans to build a $3B data center campus, with 300MW of power lined up from CVEC and Dominion as well as ‘substantial onsite green power’.

Spirent has won a key new unnamed hyperscale customer from the world of AI for its test and assurance solutions. The AI-focused hyperscaler will be leveraging Spirent’s B3 800G appliance to validate its Ethernet network infrastructure. We focus a lot of attention on the data center infrastructure, but the network operations required to support AI workloads offer substantial opportunity to vendors of all stripes.

AMS-IX and Milan Internet Exchange have signed a strategic partnership agreement. The two will offer Cross-IX, enabling customers on both sides to interconnect across fabrics. Earlier this year AMS-IX did the same thing with Netnod in Sweden.
