Four global partnerships of interest from this week worth catching up with:
DE-CIX and GCX have signed a new strategic partnership agreement. GCX will be able to resell DE-CIX India’s services to customers worldwide as well as within the Indian market itself. Meanwhile DE-CIX India will be able to leverage GCX’s subsea cables, which include FA-1, FALCON, HAWK & FNAL.
Vodafone says that Oracle Communications will be tapping its Business IoT capabilities. The two will build upon an existing partnership to add global IoT connectivity to Oracle’s Enterprise Communications Platform. That will give Oracle the ability to offer greater capabilities out at the edge as far as 180 countries worldwide.
Nokia’s 100G PON technology will be getting a workout back on its home turf with the help of the Finnish telecommunication company Elisa. Elisa will be leveraging Nokia’s Lightspan MF gear, giving them 25G, 50G, and 100G PON capabilities. The deployment will upgrade from their existing 10G PON offerings.
And Macquarie Telecom has signed a new agreement with the global education provider Navitas. Navitas will be consolidating and upgrading its existing MPLS, SDWAN, and data center infrastructure, which currently spans some 98 colleges and campuses touching 5K employees and 56K students. The deal builds upon an existing relationship, with Macquarie defending its position against the likes of fellow Australian providers Telstra, Optus, and TPG.
