A few international next-generation tech upgrades in the infrastructure world to catch up with:
Sparkle is looking to take a bit of quantum technology to market. They have completed a proof of concept for quantum-safe Internet, leveraging tech from Adtran, Arqit Quantum, and Intel on a VPN connection between Italy and Germany. They hope to officially launch the NaaS/QSA combo later this year.
Avelacom has upgraded its low latency network, achieving new speed records for the high speed trading community. They claim to have cut terrestrial path latencies between European and Asian hubs by as much as 8 seconds. Specifically their London-Shanghai route has an RTD delay of 125ms, down from a previous benchmark of 133ms. Next on their list are routes into Seoul, South Korea.
And down in the southern hemisphere, Southern Cross and FiberSense have expanded their relationship. FiberSense’s subsea cable monitoring solution has been deployed across SX’s New Zealand shore-end infrastructure. The technology uses frequencies outside the data traffic wavelengths to get the job done, so that subsea cable operators don’t need to reserve a dark fiber just for monitoring.
