Thursday Roundup: AiNET, Tillman, Duos, Aire, Nokia

A data center upgrade, some FTTH funding, a new edge data center deployment, and a core network upgrade over in Spain.

AiNET is investing in its Baltimore footprint in anticipation of demand from Artificial Intelligence. They have added more than 200MW of additional power at the One Market Center facility, bringing the total capacity up to 1GW. The upgrade will help them meet the high density power requirements of AI applications.

Tillman Fiber has lined up $1B in new funding as it revs up its entrance into the Florida FTTH marketplace. The new financing, which is made up of $815M in committed debt financing plus another $200M in the form of a credit facility. Tillman had already raised $250M from Northleaf Capital Parthers with the potential of double that as they scale. Tillman’s FTTH network in multiple major markets across Florida, including St. Petersburg, Fort Myers, Naples, Pensacola, Miami, Palm Beach, Ft. Lauderdale, and Kissimmee.

The data center edge has a new player preparing to build out. Duos Edge AI, Inc., which is part of Duos Technologies Group and recently appointed Doug Recker to the role of President, says it has lined up its first three locations. The first facilities are expected to be operational in late Q3. While details are scarce still, Duos Technologies last month revealed it s working with Amtrak to deploy such facilities in support of its rail network’s technology needs.

And Aire Networks has tapped Nokia for an upgrade of its network infrastructure. The Spanish wholesale network operator provider will leverage a range of Nokia’s mobile core solutions to increase capacity, coverage, and reliability. The deal expands on an existing relationship between Nokia and Aire.
