Regional Bytes: ArchTop, Accelecom, Render Networks, Home Networks, Stantec, Zayo

News from four regional fiber projects in four different parts of the US to keep up with:

ArchTop Fiber has officially expanded across the border from New York into Massachusetts. The northeastern FTTH provider is building out network in Pittsfield MA, stretching out into Massachusetts’ Berkshires region. They currently offer services in Kingston, Saugerties, Rhinebeck, and Warwick, and will soon turn things up in Hudson and Catskill.

Accelecom has a new partner in place out in Kentucky. They are working with the Franklen Electric Plant Board to bring internet services to the city of Franklin, which sits just north of the Tennesse border between Nashville and Bowling Green. Accelecom operates middle mile infrastructure throughout the state, while Franklin EPB will no doubt be handlint the last mile side of things.

Render Networks says it will be helping Home Telecom accelerate its fiber buildout. Home Telecom is building out fiber in the South Carolina counties of Berkeley, Charleston, and Dorchester. They will use Render’s construction management platform to improve efficiency, scaling up from 150 miles of new fiber per year up to 500.

And Zayo’s project out in the middle mile between Oregon and Nevada is getting some engineering help from Stantec. Stantec is helping the 622-mile project with permitting, both with federal and state environmental regulators and with native american tribes along the route. It’s an expansion of an existing relationship under which Stantec has helped Zayo with past projects in the Pacific Northwest.
