Wednesday Bytes: FiberLight, Netsync, Connectbase, Allied, DE-CIX, NOCIX

Three bits of regional connectivity news from around the US worth catching up with at midweek:

FiberLight has completed an e-Rate project down in Texas in partnership with Netsync. The project included the deployment of 80 route miles of dark fiber in support of the Ector County Independent School District, touching some 44 facilites and 33,500 students across a 900 square mile area. ECISD serves West Odessa, Gardendale, Goldsmith, and rural areas of Ector County.

Connectbase has added another regional provider to its connectivity data ecosystem. Allied Telecom, a service provider in the Washington DC metro area, will utilize Connectbase’s platform to make its services available to a wider range of buyers and channel partners. Allied is based in Arlington VA, and earlier this year won a contract to supply connectivity to the Alexandria City Public Schools.

And DE-CIX has lined up a new partner out in Kansas City, Missouri. The data center provider NOCIX will be interconnecting its facility at 201 east 16th Ave with DE-CIX’s internet exchanges in both Dallas and New York City. The arrangement will enable NOCIX to offer on-ramps to the wide ecosystem of network operators, content providers, and cloud access available via DE-CIX’s global presence.
