Zayo has been quietly plugging away at its fiber and data footprint over the last year, and yesterday they offered an update on what they’ve been working on. They have been adding to their 400G network on multiple fronts, expanding to new PoPs, and adding diverse longhaul fiber.
On the 400G front, they have added four regional routes: Indianapolis-Columbus, New Orleans to Ponchatoula, Grand Rapids to Lansing, and Cut Bank MT to Calgary. Those add diversity to the routes Zayo use to satisfy growing demand in both the short and long haul.
Meanwhile Zayo has added 16 IP PoP in North America, with California, Colorado, Maryland, New Jersey, Ohio and Ontario specifically mentioned. And they are working on another 11 400G IP peering locations that will be rolled out later this year, with Toronto, Seattle, Phoenix, Dallas, and Chicago on that list.
