Four interesting items from four different corners of the data infrastructure world:
Boldyn Networks will be even more present in more venues going forward. They have announced an expansion of their partnership with ASM Global, which operates some 350 venues around the world. ASM will now leverage additional next generation technologies to connect everyone as needed in such complex environments, expanding work they have done in iconic arenas to the rest of their portfolio.
Connectbase has a new partner in eastern Europe, and in particular the Baltics. Bitė, which offers last mile services based out of Lithuania, has joined Connectbase’s ecosystem. That will enable Bitė to work directly with other service providers from around the world, adding their endpoint information alongside that of what is now 300+ providers globally.
Tillman Fiber will be building even more fiber down in Florida. They have announced an expansion of their FTTx footprint in the south and west of the state, leveraging PON technology from Nokia and Wi-Fi 6 technology from Corteca. They are collaborating with a Tier 1 mobile operator to supply multi-gigabit symmetrical services across a wide geography that includes St. Petersburg, Fort Myers, Naples, Pensacola, Miami, Palm Beach, Ft. Lauderdale, and Kissimmee.
And Lumen’s Black Lotus Labs says it has disrupted another of the global cybersecurity threats out there. Malware called TheMoon that targets routers and IoT devices reemerged last year and is using those devices to support a cybercriminal anonymity service called FaceLess. Lumen has been able to stop that traffic across their network, and is raising the alarm with those who have vulnerable SOHO routers in their infrastructure.
