Two infrastructure news items from Latin America, and two regional items in the US:

Aligned Data Centers’s ODATA subsidiary has big plans for growth down in Mexico. In addition to expanding their QR01 data center in Querétaro, they will be constructing two new data center campuses aimed at the hyperscale market. QR02 will add 30MW in the city of Guanajuato, a couple hours northwest, and QR03 will support 150MW in El Marqués in the suburbs of Querétaro. The Mexican infrastructure market is red hot these day.

Segra is looking to improve its internal operations with the help of ServiceNow. They are deploying ServiceNow’s Telecommunications Service Management software to power their SegraOne platform as they look to simplify and improve their processes. Segra got bigger last year when Cox bought the company and combined it with Unite Private Networks, bringing together 43,000 fiber route miles in 28 states.

ADTRAN has picked up some business with the Mescalero Apache Tribe down in New Mexico. Mescalero Apache Telecom (MATI) will be using their XGS-PON technology to connect its rural tribal communities. The project leverages both loans and grants and will enable the delivery of symmetrical gigabit services, connecting up homes as well as 29 anchor institutions. The Mescalero Apache reservation is located about three hours south by southwest of Albuquerque.

And Sparkle has done a deal with Algar Telecom. The Italy-based international network operator has acquired the right to use Algar Telecom’s piece of the Monet cable system. Monet connects Florida with the Brazilian markets of Fortaleza and São Paulo, complementing their existing routes between the Americas. In addition Sparkle will become Algar Telecom’s long term provider for international connectivity and IP transit.
