Two data center expansion projects, and two vendor wins:
Aligned Data Centers has launched some new cooling capabilities. Their new DeltaFlow liquid cooling technology adds to their ExpandOnDemand capabilities, enabling Aligned to better address next-gen projects. AI, ML, and other new technologies are driving ever greater rack density, which means water cooling is becoming a key piece of the puzzle for hyperscale customers.
1547 Critical Systems Realty has lined up the necessary power for its data center plans in Chester County PA. They now have an initial commitment of 290MW of power by 2025-2026 and on-site rooftop solar of 7MW initially with scalability to 25MW. Chester County sits between Philadelphia and the Delaware border, and 1547 acquired 100 acres there in 2022 with plans for as much as 2M square feet of data center space.
Infinera picked up a key subsea deal this week. Orange has deployed Infinera’s GX Series-based ICE6 coherent solution on its piece of the AMITIE cable, enabling up to 400GbE services. AMITIE connects Lynn MA with landing stations in Bude UK and Le Porge, France, and came online this past summer. They are also using Infinera’s solution for the terrestrial backhaul from Boston to NY and from Le Porge to Bordeaux.
And Nokia has announced a further expansion of its relationship with NL-ix. NL-ix is now deploying Nokia’s 7750SR platform to its 100 locations around Europe, having already rolled it out within the Netherlands. The upgrade will enable 800GE routing, enabling them to better serve the needs of enterprises across the continent. Nokia’s platform leverages its new FP5 silicon.
