A new IX and several new partnerships and ecosystem expansions from around the world.

AMS-IX has a new IX partnership in place for the horn of Africa. They are working with the data center provider Wingu to take the existing ecosystem of Wingu’s Djix exchange and launch AMS-IX Djibouti. AMS-IX will build, manage, and operate the new IX within Wingu’s newly constructed second data center in the small African nation.

Connectbase has added another European last mile provider to its ecosystem. The Italian-based fiber operator Retelit is now leveraging the company’s SaaS platform to make its network available to more potential customers worldwide. Retelit has some 43,000km route miles of fiber with some 16,000 on-net sites in Italy.

GTT has picked up a bit more education and research network business in the US. The global service provider has been selected as a preferred provider to The Quilt and Authorized Quilt Providers, expanding on an existing relationship. They are now providing 450Gbps of bandwidth plus network security and DDOS protection to the ecosystem’s 40 members.

Global Cloud Xchange is looking to revamp its systems with a bit of help from Sonata Software. The Indian-based company specializes in ‘Modernization Engineering’, which GCX is hoping to leverage as it starts a multi-year business transformation. The multi-year contract builds upon an existing relationship.
