Three interconnection expansions, one new data center, and one restructuring financial move:
Flexential is expanding its interconnection capabilities for tenants within its 39 data center footprint. They have launched a 40Gbps IP bandwidth offering as part of their National FlexAnywhere Platform. The medical imaging solutions provider Intelerad is among the first to take advantage of the new capabilities.
Element Critical has brought in a significant new interconnection platform to its ecosystem. Megaport’s NaaS platform is launching across their data center footprint, starting with Austin One. The partnership enables tenants to take advantage of Megaport’s SDN and cloud interconnection services.
Equinix’s subsidiary MainOne is moving to take better advantage of its parent’s interconnection ecosystem. They are leveraging Equinix Fabric to extend their own interconnection reach on behalf of enterprise customers in West Africa. More specifically they will tap into Equinix IBXs in Lisbon and London to better serve those customers with international interconnection needs.
Web Werks has officially launched its first data center in Hyderabad. The Iron Mountain joint venture built the 120,000 square foot HYD-1 after acquiring and redeveloping a standalone commercial facility 12 months ago. Web Werks also recently launched locations in Mumbai and Bengaluru.
And Cyxtera has made a restructuring move that could lead to a sale. They have raised $50M in new financing from holders of 2/3 of its outstanding term loan while entering into a Restructuring Support Agreement. The agreement puts Cyxtera on the market for a buyer, with a trip through Chapter 11 if such a buyer cant’ be found. The announcement came as the company reported revenues of $196.7M in Q1 with a net loss of $325.4M of which there was a non-cash goodwill impairment charge of $278.2M.
