Two M&A moves, a network upgrade, and some robocalling defense:
Tofane Global has made its seventh inorganic move with the acquisition of DIMOCO Messaging. DIMOCO Messaging is a global SMS aggregator based in Liechtenstein and Austria that delivers some 2B A2P messages per year. Tofane Global will merge the acquired company with its iBASIS subsidiary, doubling the company’s mobile services revenues and giving them access to new enterprise market segments.
Fastwyre got a little bigger yesterday as well. They have completed their planned acquisition of Moundville Communications, which provides broadband across a swath of Alabama. Alabama becomes the sixth state in Fastwyre’s footprint. Meanwhile, Fastwyre says its rollout of broadband services in Louisiana, Missouri, and Nebraska is also nearing completion.
Infinera offered a few details of it’s gear’s support for the bandwidth required in the Middle East for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar last month. They teamed up with Beyond Technology to help an unnamed ‘leading Middle East network operator’ deploy a 3.6Tbps network. The project leveraged Infinera’s ICE6 800G tech.
And XConnect is teaming up with IDT Global to deal with robocalling. The partnership will leverage XConnect’s RealNumber DNO database of local and toll-free numbers in North America to better protect IDT Global’s US-based customers. DNO stands for ‘Do Not Originate’, flagging numbers that might be used illegally for robocalling.
