Two more executive leadership appointments and a key 5G partnership:
GTT continues to flesh out its management team, and yesterday appointed a new Chief Financial Officer. Johan Broekhuysen will take over the CFO role as the company looks to further develop its position in global managed network and security services. While most recently he led Open Water Advisory Group, he was earlier EVP and CFO at Lumos.
Skywire Networks and Xchange Telecom got a new CEO last week. Doug Turtz has taken over in the wake of NOVA Infrastructure’s purchase of the companies a couple months ago. Skywire and Xchange have extensive fixed wireless assets within the 5 boroughs of New York City, serving some 2K lit buildings with reach to as many as 350K.
Nokia and SFR have inked a strategic partnership. The two will team up to deploy and resell 5G private wireless networks, leveraging Nokia’s cloud-native 5G SA core. 5G SA network slicing is a key piece of the puzzle, which SFR and Nokia tested on the Altice campus at the end of last year. SFR is also planning to close down its 2G and 3G infrastructure and put that spectrum to use in 4G and 5G contexts.
