ExteNet has picked up some major business in the arena of, well, arenas. The wireless infrastructure specialist announced yesterday that it has entered into an exclusive and expanded partnership with one of the big three US wireless carriers: T-Mobile.
ExteNet will be deploying, owning, and operating infrastructure within large sports, entertainment, hospitality, and transportation venues for T-Mobile, directly coupling its own infrastructure with that of T-Mobile’s broader wireless network. They will also be rationalizing and decommissioning some overlapping legacy infrastructure, some of which they picked up in the Sprint deal.
The two companies had already been working together of course, and this deal cements ExteNet’s position as a primary wireless carreir for T-Mobile within these venues. That includes T-Mobile joining ExteNet’s buildout within all 25 MGM Resorts locations around the country. The rollout began in October and is already underway.
