Three expansion projects on three continents worth keeping up with:
RETN has been investing in its Italian footprint. They have added three new PoPs, with one each in Padua, Milan, and Rome, giving the company six total PoPs in the country. Rome is a new market for RETN, and they teamed up with Namex to make it happen.
Equinix is expanding its data center footprint to Indonesia. They plan to spend $74M to build an IBX in Jakarta. It will be an 8-story facility offering 5,300 square meters of colo space and 1600 cabinets at full buildout. From the new facility they will look to better serve the Indonesian marketplace, complementing their 5 locations in the nearby hub of Singapore.
Aligned Data Centers is investing in an expansion in the southwestern market of Phoenix. They have acquired two new plots of land, upon which they plan to build new mega campuses, with the potential of 400MW or IT load and 2 million square feet. The new campuses will combine their Delta3 cooling technology with a waterless heat rejection system.
