The data center, cloud, and connectivity provider Flexential has unveiled plans for a major expansion of its footprint in the Pacific Northwest. Yesterday they announced a development project outside Portland, Oregon in Hillsboro. And helping them with the project is T5 Data Centers.
The planned expansion will deliver 54MW of capacity adjacent to Flexential’s Hillsboro 3 facility, giving Flexential more than 100MW of deployed capacity in the state. It will also be interconnected with their Hillsboro 2 facility, a hub which hosts the endpoints of the NCP and Hawaiki subsea cables.
They’ll accelerate the project via build-to-suit project and a long term lease with T5 Data Centers. T5’s construction arm will deliver an initial 138,000 square foot, 18MW facility, followed by a larger 358,000 square foot, 36MW+ facility.
That’s a lot of space and power to be constructed. Both companies have their eyes on sustainability of course, and are targeting a 1.4 PUE and zero WUE.
