Nitel has made an inorganic move, it’s first since Cinven pumped resources into the company. The network-as-a-service provider has announced its intent to acquire Hypercore Networks.
Based in Garland TX, Hypercore Networks is also built around a NaaS portfolio. Like Nitel it focuses on wholesale and the channel, and its assets will boost Nitel’s footprint and assets in the USA.
The private equity folks at Nitel made a significant investment in Nitel back in November 2021. The idea was to create a platform with an asset-light approach to expansion targeting the growing markets of SD-WAN, security, and interconnection.
The deal for Hypercore will help accelerate those plans, but is unlikely to be the last word on the subject. Further inorganic moves seem likely as Nitel assembles the necessary pieces to take on the global opportunity.
